It has been 9 months since I was first diagnosed with hyperthyroid on November 2005. My carbimazole intake had been reduced from 3 times a day for the first 4 months, and then 2 times for the next 3 months until recently in May 2007, to only once a day.I am advised to take it early in the morning since the effect of the medicine is about 8 hours.Within 9 months I have gained a total of 15 kg from 50 to 65 kg, and I think I should start thinking about dieting before it's too late. Well, this tremendous change in my body weight was due to carbimazole's effect where it combines with my thyroid hormone, thus reduces my metabolism rate.
